Popular TV host Ebuka Uchendu has revealed how he lost a presenter gig because he couldn’t give up his Nigerian accent.
The media industry in Nigeria these days is filled with people who speak American or British accent. Aspiring OAPs and TV presenters are often forced to adhere to the standard
According to Ebuka who hosts popular show Big Brother Naija, the job he lost didnt make him bow to the pressure to adhere to the standard which will see him speak like a non-nigerian.
“I once lost a presenter gig because my accent is too Nigerian, but it never stopped me from being true to myself and fully embracing my individuality. Don’t ever feel pressure to conform, you can actually break the norm because truly all our dreams are valid “, Ebuka shared.
