Prolific Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has today revealed why he has no interest in joining Manchester City, but would have moved to the Camp Nou to join Barcelona this summer.

Aubameyang, a 28-year-old Gabonese international, has developed into of of world football’s most in-demand stars over recent seasons.

Since joining Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013, the lightning-quick attacker has notched an incredible 93 goals in 135 Bundesliga appearances, doing a phenomenal job of filling the shoes left by Robert Lewandowski.

Unsurprisingly, ‘Auba’ has been linked with a host of European giants over the last few years, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, AC Milan, PSG and Manchester City having all been touted as potential destinations during this summer’s transfer window.

The 55-time capped international has previously stated his desire to join Real Madrid, though he also warmed to the idea of a return to AC Milan (where he played early in his career) earlier this year.

In the end, the Rossoneri took too long to come to an agreement with Dortmund, who took their crown jewel off the market in the middle of July.

No PL future

Aubameyang has started off the current campaign in typically scintillating fashion, having notched 9 goals in 9 appearances across the Bundesliga and Champions League.

During an interview with TF1’s ‘Telefoot’ yesterday, the former Lille and Monaco man was questioned on links with Manchester City and the Chinese Super League, to which he replied:

‘Manchester City? In fact, I’ve never been attracted to the Premier League. This is a personal opinion.’

‘I thought about China, which seems normal, but it still lacks professionalism, unfortunately.’

Camp Nou wish

Additionally, in a straight yes-or-no question, Aubameyang was queried on whether he would have considered joining former Dortmund teammate Ousmane Dembele in making the move to Barcelona during the summer, with the Westfalenstadion favourite revealing that he would have, if given the chance.

He concluded by affirming his commitment to his current side, explaining:

‘I’m very happy to have stayed in Dortmund. It’s like a family to me.’
