After winning the first leg of their UCL last-16 tie at the Etihad Stadium, the four-time European champions are aiming to make the EPL champs chase the game.
Barcelona is aiming to make Manchester City “suffer” during the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, according to Andres Iniesta.
The Premier League champions face a second consecutive last-16 exit at the hands of the Liga giants, having lost 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium three weeks ago.
“We will have to go out there and play in a very comprehensive manner,” Iniesta told reporters. “We need to have lots of possession so they suffer, so they are chasing the ball.
“We need to have a lot of skills and about minimizing their potential. We have to control what is going on at every different moment – this is what we have to do.
“They’re very dangerous because of their players – in just one minute they can turn the result upside down so at all levels we need to concentrate, 200 per cent.
“This is what we are going to do – we’re not going to make mistake of thinking the first result of 2-1 means there are going to be guarantees. We need to make them run.”
Iniesta, though, highlighted the threat of City midfielder Yaya Toure, himself a former Barcelona player who joined City for 24 million pounds in 2010.
The Ivorian was suspended for the first leg, and Iniesta feels the Premier League champions are a more threatening prospect with him in the team.
“City are more dangerous team with Yaya. He’s a complete players,” he added. “He is physically strong and improves City when he plays.”
