Nigeria’s Agriculture Minister Akinwumi Adesina, widely regarded as one of outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan’s best performing Ministers, has deleted a tweet from his account where he had campaigned against President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari during the April 2015 presidential polls.
The tweet (screenshot below) says: “In 1984 fertiliser corruption was massive. Subsidised fertilisers from Nigeria were stolen and smuggled off to Niger. Who was in charge then?”
The Minister deleted the tweet on Tuesday shortly after receiving Buhari’s endorsement as next President of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB) which he acknowledged via his Twitter handle.
I am honored by @MBuhari endorsement of my candidacy for President of @AfDB_Group. Together, we can renew Africa. http://t.co/NvahONvCXS

Gbenga Sesan, Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) who allegedly resigned his membership of the Enough Is Enough (EiE) group to work for Buhari’s campaign, responded to the incident with the following set of tweets:
Be careful who you look down on. The outgoing minister and likely regional bank president can delete tweets, but hope he's learnt a lesson.

Adesina judged Buhari by his past. Buhari has now used his vision of the future to support the same man who slighted him. Children, learn 😀
